House Hunting...

..in Sydney was an absolute JOKE. It was such a pain trying to find a place that was a decent price, in a good location, and was furnished for four people. We started by looking at about every website that was available, realestate.com.au, domain.com.au, gumtree.com etc etc. We found some houses that we liked on like realestate.com and went to check them out but they were either unfurnished or we had to apply to it through a real estate agent we went to about four open houses but they were all a bust.

The real estate applications were a joke because of course they asked us for proof of employment, dates we would be in the house ( most wanted at least a year), references from previous landlords and all of this stuff none of us have. Thus, we decided that going through the bigger sites wasnt the best plan and we just stuck to gumtree where the deals just go through you and the landlord.

Jenah and I went to look at a place after we went to the beach. After getting lost trying to find it, we finally arrived at an apartment that a group of boys lived in. Fail. It was too small and too expensive for the location. Apparently, the neighbors were also horrible and couldnt stand any noise whatsoever. On the walk home, after a BEAUTIFUL day at the beach (I mean perfect weather, you couldnt ask for anything better) we got caught in a thunder and rain storm. At this point our hopes were quite down about finding anywhere we would like.

The next day, Saturday, I found a place on gumtree and called. The guy seemed pretty spastic and said we could see the place at three. This two bedroom apartment is in Bondi Junction which is five minutes from the train station and ten minutes from the beach, fully furnished with two beds in each room, sheets provided, cutlery, and everything we could ever need. Too good to be true? He called me back to say that three wouldnt work but the girls who lived there would be there at six. Katie and I got there first, checked it out and fell in love. Jenah and Sarah got lost so after we hung out with the current tenants (and new best friends) for about half an hour, Sarah and Jenah turned up and had a look at it. When we left it didnt seem like they liked it, but they loved it. I called the guy right then and told him we wanted it.

We move in Tuesday :) The location is perfect and it is SO cute. Its just weird because the street we live on is called Old South Head Rd... Anyway..WOOOOOO!!! Check one! Well Check one for me....Check two for Katie who is also employed as a receptionist for Ferrari. Surprised? Neither am I ;)
